Contractor Personalities
For solo and Wardenless play, Contractors are controlled indirectly. A personality consisting of Traits and Behaviors is generated for each Contractor, creating some unpredictability in the way they act. Contractors are another piece of the game's puzzle; you need to react to their behavior the same way that you need to react to the behavior of encounters.
Personality Design Procedure
The following procedure generates a d10 Personality Table for a , and is done at the same time as character creation.
Roll a d10 to select a Trait and its related Behavior from the Trait Table below.
Next, roll a d5 and fill in that many rows of your Personality Table with the chosen Trait. This determines how likely it is that the Contractor expresses that Trait each turn.
Repeat the process until you’ve filled the entire Personality Table.
For example, you roll the d10 and get a 4 (Helpful), then roll the d5 and get a 5. You surround the box for sections 1-5 of the Contractor Personality Table with a heavy line and then fill in the Trait "Helpful," and its corresponding Behavior.
Next you roll a 7 (Charismatic) and 3. You surround the next three boxes on the Personality Table with a heavy line and fill in the Trait "Charismatic," and its corresponding Behavior.
Finally, you roll a 10 (Wildcard) and a 5. You surround the final two boxes on the Trait Table with a heavy line since there are only two boxes left (even though you rolled a 5). You then write the Trait "Wildcard" in this set of boxes along with its corresponding Behavior.
Ultimately, you have a Personality Table that shows that this Contractor is Helpful 50% of the time, Charismatic 30% of the time, and a Wildcard 20% of the time.

8

9

Designer Considerations
You can design NPCs using either these Traits and Behaviors or custom Traits and Behaviors. This is the final piece of making a solo and Wardenless compatible module alongside Dynamic Tables, Accessible Maps, and Dice AI.
